The Platforms
What's the difference between a Zillow 3D Tour and a Matterport tour?
They are completely separate, non-overlapping products that serve different portals.
A Zillow 3D Tour embeds directly on your Zillow listing and appears on Zillow, Trulia, and Redfin. It's the only way to have a 3D experience on Zillow — in 2021, Zillow removed support for Matterport tours from their platform entirely. A Matterport tour will not appear on Zillow regardless of quality.
A Matterport tour is the industry standard for immersive 3D walkthroughs — with dollhouse view, floor plan mode, and measurement tools. You receive a shareable link you can post on your MLS listing, email to buyers, embed on your website, or share on social. It's the native format for Homes.com, Realtor.com, and MLS embed fields.
Which platform should I choose?
It depends on where your buyers are searching — and honestly, you rarely know in advance.
If you want coverage on Zillow, you need a Zillow 3D Tour. If you want coverage on Homes.com and Realtor.com, you need Matterport. There's no workaround and no overlap between these ecosystems.
Many agents choose both — one visit, every major portal covered. That's the only way to have a 3D tour on Zillow and Homes.com simultaneously.
Aren't 3D tours just for luxury listings?
That used to be the conventional wisdom. It isn't anymore.
Consumer expectations have shifted. Buyers now expect more access to a listing before they schedule a showing — think about how often clients ask for floor plans. Floor plans became the norm. 3D tours are next, and agents who adopt them now are ahead of that curve, not chasing it.
Can I customize my Matterport tour?
Yes. We offer call-outs within the tour and agent branding for off-MLS use. We're happy to discuss customization options for any upcoming or existing tour. This level of personalized service is not something you'll find with larger, volume-driven providers.
Delivery
When will my tour be ready?
Matterport tours are delivered within 24 hours of the shoot.
Zillow 3D Tours are uploaded to your Zillow listing within 12 hours of the shoot. Once uploaded, processing and display times are controlled by Zillow — in the recent past, Zillow has experienced processing delays lasting up to and beyond 48 hours. We'll alert you immediately if we become aware of any delays on our end or on Zillow's end.
How long is my Matterport tour hosted?
Matterport tour hosting is included for 12 months from the delivery date, or until the property closes. After 12 months, continued hosting is at our discretion and may be subject to additional fees. Tours associated with properties that have closed or been removed from market may be taken offline at any time.
Coming back to market? Just let us know — we'll get it sorted.
Scheduling & Cancellation
How long does a shoot take?
Plan for at least 90 minutes. A larger home — say 4,000 sq ft — with a full package can take up to 3 hours. We'll do everything right the first time, and we appreciate the space to do so. If your window is limited, please give us a heads-up in advance so we can plan accordingly.
How does flexible (go-and-show) scheduling work?
When you select flexible scheduling at booking, you're giving us open availability for the selected date rather than a specific time window. We'll text you no later than that morning with our planned arrival time. Lighting and weather are our most important factors in determining the best time to shoot a home, so we appreciate the flexibility.
Flexible scheduling also unlocks a 10% discount on all services.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes. With at least 24 hours notice, you get two free reschedules. After two reschedules, or if notice is given within 24 hours of your appointment, a $25 reschedule fee applies.
We understand things happen — give us as much notice as you can and we'll work with your schedule. Need to put an order on hold until a listing is ready? No problem — just shoot us a note.
What if weather cancels the drone portion of my shoot?
The call is yours. We can refund the aerial portion of your booking, or we'll give your job priority placement in the next available reschedule window — drone shoots that were weather-delayed go to the front of the line. We're agents ourselves and we understand that your timelines are often commitments that have already been made. We'll help you keep them.
Coverage & Properties
What areas do you cover?
Raleigh and Wake Forest are our home base. We actively cover Wake, Durham, Franklin, Johnston, Chatham, Orange counties, and more.
If the booking site shows your property as outside our range — contact us anyway. We understand you've made a commitment to a client, and we'll do our best to accommodate.
What types of properties do you shoot?
Any building — residential resale, new construction, condos, townhomes, and more. Our equipment is best suited to existing structures with defined interior spaces.
For vacant land, our ground-based tours aren't the right fit, but aerial drone work can be a great option. Reach out and let's talk.
Your Tour
What if I'm not satisfied with the results?
We'll do everything we can to make it right. That said, the nature of a 3D virtual tour doesn't allow for the same level of post-processing as traditional photography — and this is actually part of its value.
In a world saturated with AI-generated living rooms, our tours give buyers an authentic, unfiltered view of the property. That authenticity builds trust and confidence before a buyer ever sets foot through the door. Prep matters — which is why we put together a Getting Ready guide to help you get the most out of every session.
What equipment do you use?
We use latest-generation professional 360° capture equipment — the same technology used by top-tier commercial tour providers. The difference is that it's in the hands of people who are also active real estate professionals and understand what matters to agents and buyers.
About Us
Who is Raleigh3D?
We're two licensed real estate professionals with a combined 20+ years of experience in sales, operations, and real estate marketing management — one active sales agent, and one operations-focused career professional. We've been working together since 2018 and built Raleigh3D because we got tired of being overcharged by vendors and under-served on turnaround time. We know what agents need because we are agents.
Do you offer custom or add-on packages?
Yes — whatever you can dream up, we can talk through. Twilight shoots, neighborhood aerials, video walkthroughs, and more are all on the table. Send us a note to discuss custom packages.
Is there a referral program?
Yes. If you refer a fellow agent and they book with us, you'll receive an extra 10% off ground-based services on your next shoot. Just send us a quick note letting us know you're referring someone before they book.
